Fans of the Saskatoon Fantastic Film Festival will remember an absolutely crazy short film we presented in 2021 titled VISITORS by director Kenichi Ugana. If you were a fan of that gruesome zombie tale, then great news, Kenichi is back with a full feature version.

Clocking in at just over an hour, there’s no wasted time in setting up the zombie premise again, and if you’re in the theatre at midnight to catch some over-the-top gore, you won’t be waiting long. The film is split into three arcs. In the first arc, our heroes from the short film, Haruka, Nana, and Takanori, visit the house of a friend who they haven’t heard from in quite some time. One of the girls steps into goo on his floor and transforms into a head-spinning, bloodthirsty demon. In the second arc, a bar owner kidnaps a passerby, and the monsters eventually show their ugly faces. In the third, monsters are coexisting with humans. They’re still enemies however and Haruka, who has become a chainsaw monster herself, becomes the protagonist once more.

Ugana is grotesque hilarious and has crafted the definition of a film fest midnight movie. Ugana’s admiration for Troma studio is clear, and Troma founder Lloyd Kaufman even makes an appearance. But hey it’s midnight, enjoy the madness.

“Ugana is one of the most unique voices in modern horror cinema, and Visitors: Complete Edition is a solid place to jump in on his work if you haven’t done so before. If you have, you know to just sit back and expect the unexpected.” Joseph Perry Scariest Things

“Visitors Complete Edition is definitely messy and evidently low budget, but is also rather fun, and one of those movies that will find much appeal among fans of cult cinema.” Panos Kotzathanasis Asian Movie Pulse

“Visitors (Complete Edition) is not going to be for everyone and doesn’t try to be. But for those who grew up on The Toxic Avenger and Class of Nuke ‘Em High films, this should be a welcome dose of bloody fun.” Jim Morazzini Voices From The Balcony
