A travelling knife salesman pulls into a rural rest stop in Arizona and finds himself stranded, waiting for the fuel truck that’s on its way to refill the last gas pump for a hundred miles. As he sips coffee and works idly on a crossword puzzle, more marooned travellers enter the stifling heat of the diner: two bank robbers on the run following their most recent heist. The temperature rises, the pressure builds, and suddenly our salesman is in the middle of a messy hostage situation.
