Elizabeth Derby’s (Heather Graham) seemingly perfect life, as a successful psychiatrist with a loving husband, is thrown into disarray when she meets a young patient she’s equally disturbed by and attracted to. Suddenly Elizabeth is charged with murder and locked away in an asylum, pleading her unbelievable case to her close friend and doctor (genre icon Barbara Crampton), a tale of dark magic, erotic obsession, body-swapping, and cosmic terror.
Loosely based on H.P. Lovecraft’s THE THING ON THE DOORSTEP, and a reverent homage to the late, great filmmaker Stuart Gordon’s Lovecraftian output (RE-ANIMATOR and FROM BEYOND), director Joe Lynch (MAYHEM) has crafted a supernatural erotic thriller, a gleefully perverted body horror spectacle of sexual madness and ancient evil.
