Visual artist Ann Oren announces herself as a bold new voice in cinema with her wholly original feature debut, Piaffe. Shot on beautiful 16mm, it is unlike any film you will see this year. A shy woman is forced to replace her sister as a foley artist and her subsequent research into the sounds of horses causes her to grow a horse tail. The new tail sparks a journey of sexual self discovery. Made exclusively for lovers of strange and viscerally compelling films, it is not for everyone, but those adventurous souls who wander into the theatre will be treated to a sumptuous experience they will not soon forget.

“Odd as it may be, the visually and sonically ravishing Piaffe–give or take a little thumping techno–is the opposite of scary or tragic.” Kathy Fennessy Seattle Film Blog

“This is queer cinema at its queerest, queer cinema at its most exciting. It’s a thought-provoking, discussion-starting, tail-arousing work of art.” Drew Gregory Autostraddle

“A slippery meditation on gender and eroticism that drifts into a wondrous state of abstraction, full of dialogue-free interludes powered by sound, movement and sex scenes in which people aren’t actually having sex.” Sean Burns WBUR’s Arts & Culture
