One day, while on the hunt for magic power crystals, Molli witnesses as Max is ejected from his exploding space vehicle and propelled straight into the windshield of hers. The two become fast friends, but their paths are destined to diverge—Molli is off on a prophetic quest to become a level-seven space witch alongside tentacled demigod Moebius, while Max stays behind to focus on his robotic inventions and climb the ranks as a corporate-sponsored mecha-fighter mega-star. Across 12 years, 4 planets, and 3 dimensions, the orbits of our titular twosome continue to collide and they find themselves relying on each other more and more as they journey through the highs and lows of fame, dating, spirituality, cyberspace, plus the impending collapse of society and end of the universe as they know it. But will they ever realize what’s been right in front of them all along?

With MOLLI AND MAX IN THE FUTURE, writer/director Michael Lukk Litwak takes the classic will-they/won’t-they rom-com trope, blasts it into the future, and immerses it in a universe of aliens, robots, gods, demons, and as much Glorp as you can stomach. This intergalactic homage to WHEN HARRY MET SALLY is bolstered by delightfully inventive special effects, laugh-inducing dialogue, and an undeniable chemistry between Zosia Mamet (THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT, GIRLS) and Aristotle Athari (SNL, GOATFACE).

“Molli and Max in the Future is an out-of-this-world adorable romantic comedy.” Matt Donato Slashfilm

“The space stuff is secondary to a powerful tale, insightful dialogue, and brilliantly developed characters. It’s the perfect nerdy date movie.” Alan Ng Film Threat

“A deeply likable film with a tone that’s not really like anything else out there.” Brian Tallerico RogerEbert.com
