Director Carolyn GairCAROLYN GAIR~ BIO

Director Carolyn Gair is an award winning Canadian filmmaker, and owner of Bowling4Rhinos Productions in Los Angeles. She is a prolific and accomplished director, writer, and story artist, working with all the major studios, from Disney and Pixar, to Paramount and Warner Bros. She is an Emmy Award winner and Annie Nominee, and her stop-motion film, RETURN TO KELLOGG has garnered several festival awards, from Portland to Brazil.

Carolyn graduated from Sheridan College, Ontario in 1983 with a degree in animation. Her career took her to Los Angeles in 1991 when she went to work for Warner Bros Studios as a story artist on such TV shows as Tiny Toons and Animaniacs, for which she won an Emmy Award. She went on to work on Angry Beavers for Nickelodeon, and Kim Possible for Walt Disney before ending up in feature animation on such projects as Rock Dog, Rumble, Free Birds, Hop, Despicable Me, and Angry Birds.

Carolyn started experimenting with stop-motion in 2014 for Instagram and fell in love with the creative freedom. She started her stop-motion studio in 2019 with an eye to making longer content. With the onset of Covid and the inability to travel to Canada to visit family, Carolyn filmed her full length animated feature RETURN TO KELLOGG, filling the scenes with Canadian content and setting the fictional town of Kellogg in Ontario, using Canadian friends and family as voices to flesh out her “love letter to Canada”.

The Saskatoon Fantastic Film Festival is Return To Kellogg’s Canadian Premiere!
