Two comedian best-friends try not to let a demon come between them.

Hold on to your butts, we’ve got eighty plus minutes of punk rock, invasive aliens, interdimensional warriors and copious amounts of gore in the Argentine splatterfest, Pussycake. An all-girl rock band with a whole lot of zero fucks to give just got the gig of their dreams, playing in a small town in front of people from the record labels. This could be it, their big chance. Except, no one’s around when they show up. No adoring fans. No record label people. No one. Hard to play a gig if there’s no one to listen to you. It doesn’t take too long for Pablo Parés horror flick to go off the rails and barrel full tilt to its erratic finish. It is a heck of a ride though as the girls stave off waves of infected townspeople and infestation by vomit.

Talk to any fan of horror films and they should (pointing finger accusingly) tell you that the best way to go when it comes to visual effects is to do practical visual effects. PussyCake is packed to the rafters with practical visual effects. If practical effects were drugs, you’d overdose when watching this movie. This is one for the DIY fans out there. Great visual effects. Great costumes and characters. Sure, the storytelling is suspect and sometimes takes wild swings at logic and sense, but it just adds to the rush you’ll experience once the girls strum those first power chords!

“Inspiring and uplifting in equal amounts, Harvey and Kummer’s fangs-and-all documentary is, like its subject, one of a kind.”

“By the triumphant curtain call, as young Scott trots onstage for a very professional bow in full Xenomorph garb, it’s clear “Alien on Stage” has completely captured the hearts of the audience – film, theater, and Christopher Guest lovers alike.”

“You will be giggling and laughing your way throughout as the cast flounce and flounder through a stage production like no other. It is absolutely glorious.”
